Decals Like Mad

I have a calcium gel nail treatment on and it says you shouldn't use it as a base coat so I decided to leave it on overnight and at least one more day. I had to put something on there so I used some of my decals. Well, more than SOME. A lot.






































I decided to try all brown - eyeliner, eyeshadow and see if it really brought out the blue. Not really. You can't believe everything you read can you.
















My right pinky was broken when I was about 7 in a volleyball game and never healed quite right.




















I got this ring from a guy who told me a funny story about finding it in his luggage after colliding with a fellow traveler! He tried to contact the guy, but there was no way to find him. It didn't fit him, so I said, "Can I have it?" Maybe that guy will read my blog?

The "It" Color

OPI The "It" Color. I probably won't have anything new on my blog that you didn't get reviewed 6 months before it came out. I'll show you them in real life situations though...such as, on my cracked concrete porch on an overcast day with my Payless shoe collection!














These are good work shoes. Very social worky. That's my pejorative term for "work appropriate."












I matched my eye shadow...oy....


...with my nails and a purple ring. I love wearing a coordinating ring with my nails.










This manicure did not last long. I was in a rush in the morning so it looked terrible by the time I reached the car and I had picked it all off by the end of the day.

I like this color a lot. It's chic and works well with other colors.

Bad Weather So...My Eyes

I've been trying to figure out eye shadow at my advanced age. It actually helps to take pictures because I can problem-solve. I have the dread hooded eyes. Really hard to work with as far as eye shadow because nothing shows but the top part near the eyebrow and you don't really want to make that extremely dark or colorful. It's been either overcast or pouring rain anyway, so I had a break on nails. Here are three eye looks for me..

Blonde hair, nonexistant eyebrows, grey-blue eyes, hooded eyelids and eyelashes SPARSE!!!

This is a terra cotta shade under the brow, a smokey blue on the lid and a topaz liner and shadow on the lower lid.

Curled eyelashes, but they don't stay curled and black mascara. On my brow I put dark brown eyeshadow with a soft brush.




This is shiny pink shadow under the brow, sparkly white on the lid, black eyeliner on top, smudged, and blue eyeliner on the bottom, traced over with blue eyeshadow.

See, you can't really see the shadow. Watch what happens when I laugh.


My freaking eyes disappear!!!














This is today. I put it on a little darker under the brow. This is a light grey under everything, a darker grey trying to creat a crease, a light blue on the lid, and a dark blue under the eye. Black eyeliner on both lids.











...And then I had to wear my glasses because pollen in New Jersey is terrible and my eyes felt like they had glass in them!

I have TERRIBLE eyesight so my glasses make my eyes appear even smaller! AAHHHHH!!!!!







And this pic just cracked me up....Taking pics of your eyes isn't easy. Scrangie's are perfect! Mine make me laugh because I look really really dumb in them. This is one of the better ones!

Footies

I had an English Bulldog a few years ago and he would sit on his butt so his footies stuck out. They just had to be called footies.

This is my mani and pedi from previous blog and I'd been wanting to match that ring. How about that!

Some people feel weird about their feet. A lot of people feel really weird about other people's feet. I don't mind them though, and I like doing pedicures for other people too.



Here are my footies....

They've been through a lot. I had surgery for bunions on both feet and my pinkie toe on the right side had surgery to straighten it out. I do have a left pinkie nail, but that toe didn't get straightened! Poor thing.

The polish is Orly Blue Collar. I like Orly because of the application, but it's a little thick. I find that my second layer shows a ridge above the first layer. I don't know how to fix that, unless maybe putting on the second layer when the first is still wet?

You can get away with a lot on a pedicure though. People don't tend to be close enough to notice any flaws and I can't get that close either! It's like a bad yoga session when I'm doing my own pedicure.


Aren't these shoes cute??!!! I may have a bit of a shoe problem in addition to a polish problem. Although I buy extremely cheap shoes. Someone says "Cute shoes!" and I go, "Payless! Seven dollars!!"

So I might go ahead and include my pedicure in here as well because polishes look different on feet. I absolutely can't wear any coral or orange on my feet though...I immediately look like I need to retire to Florida. I'll have to put it on there and see what you guys think.

My Stash Cubby

Here's my stash and all of my implements of magic!
HaHaHa!! That's it!!! So small compared to some of these other bloggers! On the bottom shelf I have that bin full of disorganization that I pull out and rummage through or just spill out on the floor. Top shelf has (on the left) a bunch of base and top coats and the polishes I haven't put on yet, (on the right) a makeup bag with my cuticle stuff and clippers and oils, (in the back) the polish remover, a koolaid container with cotton balls (I know, lol) and stuff that I use when doing a pedicure like epsom salt, bath gel, lotion, (and in the middle) my watermelon bowl with decals and nail art pens and my plastic bottle holder thingy. This is my world! The thing that's going diagonal back there is replacement razor blades for the skin shaver thing that is horribly fascinating to use.

Here is one of the polishes that I've been putting off using just because I was bored of it already just looking at the bottle. Misa Tickled Pink. The only reason I bought it was because 1) it was $0.50, 2) Scrangie reviewed an OPI that was similar, 3) I'm determined to try every combination of polish, finish, glitter, etc on earth I guess.

Outside on an overcast day here, then inside.



Scrangie described her OPI one as white with red glitter, which made it glow pink and you could see the red glitter if you looked really closely, but overall it looked like a pink glowy white. I can't remember which one she was talking about. You can't see any red glitter here, but you can see the pink glow. It's actually very pretty. I was determined to wear this for awhile because I almost never wear light colors. When I glance at it I just see white, but if I really set out to appreciate it, I can see the pink and it's very soft and warmish. I would definitely wear this to a meeting or something at work if I didn't want to call too much attention to myself like I usually do.

I would have put it on a little thinner, but it was quite streaky and I thought I could finish with a few thick coats. This is four thick coats and I think four thin ones would have looked the same, but better.

And finally, this made me laugh. Notice the front of the bottle says "Misa Nail Lacquer New York London Paris." Look at the bottom:

LOL!! What? Philly's only good enough for the paper sticker on the bottom? What's up with that???!!!

I live almost exactly halfway between Philadelphia and Atlantic City, so I gotta stick up for my Philly peeps!!

I dupe myself

This is Essie Priceless that I bought for $2.00 (lol) at the beauty supply store. It's not a dupe, really, but it reminds me a lot of China Glaze Metropolitan, but I like Metropolitan a whole lot better, so this is only reminding me that I don't like the brown version of it very much. It looks less chocolatey than that IRL and not in the sun, but it's very densely flecked and dimensional and should be pretty, yet it's not. Perhaps thence the bargain bin.




Here's a MUCH better pic of My Blue Heaven and my random decals that I put on when I get sick of a color and have no time to change it. (22 was my high school field hockey number and the star was way cool, red and purple)

These pics are cropped and all. The monkey is just awesome. Same card as the penguins. I think the little girl decals are the most fun to use! I'll get a close penguin pic yet, you watch. You also get to see my cuticles-in-progress. I still struggle to keep them healthy, but I don't pick them off anymore, I clip them and I keep them oiled up. It really helps. And the oil is very soothing when you accidentally tear one.
